WORD LOVE

Penetrate Yourself

10.10.08

Amongst the various treats that dropped onto my desk yesterday, such as the new Juan Maclean 12″ (yes, yes, YES. now new album please!), was the new compilation from Alt Delete Recordings, Digital Penetration 2. 20 tracks of scuzzy electro pop, Parisian house and indie with ideas from acts like Late Of The Pier, Kavinsky, Glass Candy, Metronomy and FrYars and all for under a fiver.

There’s a fair chance you’ll already have a lot of these tracks, but it’s a good selection and it’s nice to have them all in one place even if it’s just to annoy the builders currently making a  mess of the office. Check out the track below from Kap Bambino, who I’d somehow not heard of before now but who sound a bit like DAT Politics or Chicks On Speed (in a good way). They have a couple of other releases out on ALt Del that you should buy, you know with real money.

Alt Delete also throw parties, mainly in Nottingham and sometimes at the Macbeth in Shoreditch if my memory isn’t playing tricks on me again, so keep an eye out for them, by all accounts they’re pretty tight. Ricky from Alt Delete (and Liars Club) is doing a little something something this Wednesday with Slutty Fringe favourites Cocadisco at The George on Commercial Rd that would be well worth checking out if you’re in the area.
