Shooting into the Corner is a new installation by Anish Kapoor (Turner Prize 2001), currently on display at the Royal Academy of Arts in London as part of his major solo exhibition. The piece consists of a large gas powered cannon that shoots 11kg red wax balls from one room into the corner of the next one, a work of extraordinary complexity and drama that builds up against the walls and floor of the gallery.
The rest of the exhibition surveys Kapoor’s career to date showcasing a number of new and previously unseen works, including a select group of Kapoor’s early pigment sculptures, beguiling mirror-polished stainless-steel sculptures and cement sculptures on display for the first time.
