There’s a lo fi charm to “Celine & Julie Go Boating” from Minnesota based trio Waxx Maxx which ensured they survived the incoming email from random band cull.

From the resonating synth flutters, through the off kilter drum thumps to the intermittent bursts of A Level French, Waxx Maxx come across as Glass Candy if Johnny Jewel swapped a diet of Italo Disco supplements for French Cold Wave dumplings.

Waxx Maxx will be posting one track a month on their own clunkily designed corner of the internet ahead of a EP set for release on Kindercore in November.
