WORD LOVE

Half A Mild Please

13.08.10

Sometimes it feels like there are certain bands that we just bang on and on about. A case in point being The Chap. Whilst I’d love to say it was because each month a suitcase arrives stuffed with cash it’s really just because they are head and fucking shoulders above 90% of all other bands that have existed ever.

Please let me now draw your attention to the wonderful video for the equally wonderful ‘We Work in Bars’ just one of a number of top pop picks you can find on their most recent chart botherering album ‘Well Done Europe‘.

I can’t say I like the video, but the track is exceptional, I’ve only taken the time to listen to 1-2 other songs of theirs but I have to say now I’ll be grabbing their latest album and giving it a go. Thanks Slutty.

they’re a great band, bit of an acquired taste perhaps, but once you’ve got into them you’re hooked.

i keep meaning to put together a kind of greatest hits from their albums.

anyway as i’m drunk and in a bad mood, doing it now might cheer me up a bit so here goes…

    My top CHap Hits are…

Remember Elvis Rex (from The Horse) one of the most amazing basslines ever, there are other great tracks on the horse, but i’m not in a memory state right now…

Auto Where To, The Premier At Last, I Am Oozing Emotion and Clissold Park (from Ham)

Fun And Interesting, Ethnic Instrument, and Proper Rock (from Mega Breakfast)

Even Your Friend, We Work In Bars, Chalet Chalet (from WellDone Europe)

those are all i guess the more poppish tracks but i reckon would be a great introduction for the first time Chap listener
