This Saturday, Forgive Me Lord For I Have Synth returns to the Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch and to help them get the party started they’ve bought over from Belgium, Libertine Supersport’s resident DJ and Relish recording artists Mickey. Ahead of the party we traded words with the mononymous DJ.

Hello Mickey, It’s been a while since we’ve partied in Brussels, how’s the city’s clubbing scene these days?

The Clubs over here, especially in Brussels, are all handles by passionated music lovers, not directly business minded people. Something that you can strongly feel in the musical direction is the way all Belgian deejay’s play … Eclectic is the word  :  )

You’re playing at ‘FMLFIHS’ this weekend, Is this your first time playing in London, looking forward to it?

Clearly, i always wanted to go to London, and even more to play there. The City is a kind of “beacon” place for the music and i’m really happy to meet the FMLFIHS team and so for the Cosmonauts.

What can we expect from your set? Tell us a bit about your DJ style?

I never really know, Let’s say that i play what i wanna hear myself when i would be in the middle of the Dance floor  : )

Are there any particular tracks do you like to start and finish your set on?

Oh yes, for example this one, Cheaters – John Talabot’s Classic Vocal Refix, that Opens and Closes every night perfectly.

You’ve DJ’ed alongside some pretty big names at Libertine Supersport, who has been your favourite guest DJ so far, and who, dead or alive, would you most like to play with?

Definetely with Stephen aka The Magician aka the ex half of Aeroplane aka my friend … He’s  definitely one of the best Dj’s i know ,and it’s always a pleasure to play with him!

I love your track Farfelle, released on Headman’s Relish label, how did you hook up with Robi?

Thanks ! I’ve been hooked with Robi trough my Manager. He was looking for a good label to release the Farfalle E.P a threesome of melodicodrama tracks and Relish was the ideal hang out  : ) 

What have you got in the pipeline at the moment? Any new releases lined up?

I will tour the USA and Australia later this year. I just finished a track for the Relish Records Comp, out later this year. I did a remix for Punks Jump Up, planned for September. And next week i will finalize my next single featuring the singer of Monarchy, to get released Mid October on the brand new imprint “Smile Recordings”.
