Sorted for New Year’s Eve yet? If not and you’re in London then you may just be in luck as those fine folk at The Nest in Dalston, scene of probably my favourite gigs in 2011, have bunged us a couple of tickets for their year end blow out. It’s a big bassy affair with Toddla T headlining, and strong support from the likes of Mosca, Mista Men, FACT’s Tom Lea and Stripes in support.
Seeing as the Weatherall remix of Toddla T’s ‘Watch Me Dance’, Mosca’s ‘Bax‘, Mista Men’s collab with Detboi ‘Sanctuary of Love‘ are all amongst my favourite records releases this year I feel more than happy to suggest that win or not you check it out.
Oh and of course I should probably mention that Stripes is one half (with CSY) of the duo behind ‘Footsie’/'Speak Easy’, the debut release on my brand new label Body Work and who have also recently remixes the likes of Icona Pop, Detboi and Penguin Prison to maximum effect.
2 bumping garage influenced house jams, BW001 is released in February next year and is already getting ‘props’ and ‘mad love’ from some of the biggest DJs out there, we’re more than a little happy about it all to be honest! Check out the clips below.
Right… Onto the competition, simply email here before Dec 28th and tell us what the worst Christmas present you’ve received is and the one that makes us laugh/cry the most wins the tickets!
Right seeing as TP’s in the US, I’m about to dissapear into a bottle of rum for the next few days and we hardly ever update this place anymore that’s probably us done till after Christmas, in which case merry Christmas and all that stuff.
