The good friends of the fringed slut known as Fragment have settled into a monthly groove at The Alibi, their new home in the land of infinite opportunities known as Dalston.

In a rare bout of sense, they were gracious enough to finally invite yours truly back to partake in the playing of music at their December party on the 10th. The night is already dipped in potential greatness thanks to the prospect of me lining up alongside former DJing partner Double A for the first time in many a year.

“He taught me all I know” goes the saying.

“That ain’t much” is the pantomine response.

Further reason to attend comes in the shape of a DJ set from best dressed chickens in town Double Denim, whilst the ragtag of residents known as Mad as Hell, Moman and birthday boy James Fragment will ensure that the minimum bar spend is met.

To mark their final party of 2011, I decided it was the perfect time put together a new mix of music both new and old, with tuff jams from the likes of John Talabot, Smuggles , Faltydl, Royalty, Kelis and SBTRKT amidst the 19 track 80 minute ride.

Those seeking some post Field Day fun this weekend are spoilt for choice. Alongside the two official afterparties, Rush Hour Records are doing a showcase, man like Move D be playing in a loft and a certain Detroit legend will be gracing the sound system at Plastic People.

If you like to be surrounded by walls rattling in time to bass lines and covered with the faint sensation of sweat wecan highly reccomend the London vs Bristol soundclash that is the Wholemeal & Schmorgasbord takeover at Whitechapel venue Riddim Factory.

Punch Drunk boss, the soul glo’d Peverelist be on headline duties and Al Tourettes and the excellent October also feature alongside the brains behind both the Schmorgasbord and Wholemeal operations. S Max has turned in this hour long promo mix for the night which should give your ears an idea of what to expect.

This also provides a neat opportunity to lace the top of what you are reading with the video for Bass Clef’s “Rollercoasters Of The Heart” which slipped out on Punch Drunk earlier this year and remains one of my favourite tracks so far this year.

All the details for the Wholemeal/Schmorgasbord takoever can be gleaned from the below flyer.

Some seven days after Beyonce’s little sister stepped up to the decks at The Shacklewell Arms, Slutty Fringe will be handling proceedings in the gaps between a live set from Bonjay. Fresh from a rest and relaxation stint in Berlin, the Toronto duo have promised to transform the backroom area into a heaving mass of high energy rhythmic thrustations and wall shuddering bass. Given the rich tradition of West Indian music attached to The Shacklewell Arms, it seems a perfect venue for Allana and Ian from Bonjay to deliver their next century blend of sounds that leans to a certain degree on les dancehall digitales.

They might even do their rather special cover version of Caribou’s “Jamelia”.

Any rumours that Christina Millian is currently locked in negotiations with our legal representation over a special headline DJ set as yet cannot be confirmed….

Amidst all the divcore, heaving muscles, bikini wax and coke fests that quite possibly characterise the annual dance music industry descent onto the golden climes of Miami there are but a few select individuals who don’t let the searing heat get in the way of the fine art of looking good.

Leading the way naturally were the organisers of Wednesday’s Sound Bellegrino event with SP overseer Teki Latex making a strong case for look of the season with the above YSL Aztec wool number (sultry female drapery is apparently an optional extra)

Not daunted by this behemoth look, Club Cheval’s resident crab battler Panteros666 opted for some below the belt dazzle in the shape of these fine Raf Simons floral print trousers – as you can see his bespectacled friend has been stunned into a blank stupor by the sheer awesomeness of them.

However, Jerome LOL BOYS wins out with this epic Lion print shirt which is more than enough to distract from Lou Brodi’s somewhat uninspired London Fields uniform of handlebar moo, slicked back hair, vest and shirt.

All photos from the night can be viewed here.

Props to our Flora for slotting inbetween Danish types Kenton Slash Demon, compatriot James Braun of Tartelet Records and the Fill Yer Boots residents on the lineup at this weekend’s Community takeover at Plan B.

For a taste of what to expect check out this Pejhycast from Fill Yer Boots resident Leisureware that slips nonchalantly between Danny Wolfers, KiNK, Pearson Sound, Jacques Greene and more over the course of sixty minutes.

Oh and here’s a wee soundcloud sample of Axel Boman’s forthcoming epic reimagination of KSD’s “Daemon” which you might hear in full should you choose to attend this Saturday’s party.
