Best usage of the internet this week goes to Arawa.fm’s Tommyboy who did this 45 minute audio visual mix of library music from the late 70s and early 80s complemented by saturated footage borrowed from a obscure Canadian Tv series.

In my absence away from posting whatever rises to the surfaces on the murky waters of PR sludge I’ve slowly been cultivating a new hunger for vinyl records. If you’re one of those people who follows the Slutty Fringe twitter feed you might have seen me spout on about them amidst the 140 character diatribes.

How Are We Doing?, the recent ten inch from D’Marc Cantu, released via the MOS Deep offshoot of Delsin Records is most defintely amongst my current favourites.

Yooouuutuuube is by far the funnest thing to happen to the internet since some tumblr dedicated to Jenny Lee Lindberg surfaced and is perhaps the best way to watch Beyonce’s Countdown.

What were you doing when you were sixteen?

I was mostly impressing a bunch of posh London girls with my gruff Northern accent (RIP) and bluffing my way into the indie clubs of Soho and Holloway.

Some people are more switched on to their future aspirations at such an age – for example the risibly named Skanky, a teenage Londoner whose debut release came out this week via Templar Sound – replete with a LOL BOYS remix who also are responsible for the above video.

Later this month the opportunity to see Maria Minerva play live then treat the basement of The Alibi to a selection of her favourite sugar rush pop music and disco trash within a smatering of days arrives courtesy of BleeD and Cocadisco.

If you are yet to experience the smudged out excellence of Minerva this new hazy video for “Ruff Trade” my favourite track from Cabaret Cixous should get you hooked – it’s all motion sickness hooked on codeine rhythms as Maria gently coos away.

Criminal waste of a fried breakfast aside, there’s little not to love about Obsess, the latest audiovisual sensory assault from Gallic noise thrashers Kap Bambino.

Whilst we’re sad Ford & Lopatin did not warm to our suggestion that they rebrand themselves No More Games, we can’t help but be impressed by their debut album Channel Pressure which is released next Monday. The duo descend on Dalston tommorow for only their second London show to headline the latest BLeeD show at Shacklewell Arms that has DJ support from Casper C and Hippos That Drive Tanks.

For an idea of what to expect you should marvel at the new video for “World Of Regret” from the wondrous Thunderhorse which mostly makes me miss all the fine food I consumed in NYC last week. The FACT dudes are streaming Channel Pressure in its entirety too.

If Beyond The Wizard Sleeve were ever asked to embellish  “Smile Around The Face” by Four Tet with their own glistening brand of psychedelia, it might sound something like the above Fear Of Theydon remix of Earthquake by This Is The Kit.

The new video for “Forever Dolphin Love” sees Connan Mockasin invite the viewer into a fictional day in the sad life of Boris Johnson’s art school deadbeat son.

After a late night warehouse art party off Shacklewell Lane, a dazed and bedraggled Milo Arthur attempts to make his 1pm seminar on the importance of right angles in 19th Century gothic art at LCC but clearly still feeling the effects of  the previous nights cocktail of Dougie Howser and Appletons, gets lost amidst the urban sprawl of the Elephant.

Remembering he’d arranged to meet his dolphin lover in Spitalfields for some mid afternoon Nandos, Milo high tails it to Liverpool St, but instead of sharing some Peri Peri Chicken she gives him the silent treatment all the way to the Essex countryside where she dumps him for a Balls jnr.

Lockandload’s Johnny Redman delivering a video that perfectly visually encapsulates the pressurized obsidian techno horror of “Hashshashin Chant” – one of many highlights from Voices Of Dust, Demdike Stare’s final entry in their trilogy of 2010 albums.

An olive branch is proffered for those who missed out on these vinyl only editions with Modern Love compiling all the tracks on a triple CD release entitled Tryptych which includes bonus tracks and is released on 24 January (more deets here).
